History

UPN is dedicated to the California communities in which it serves.  Since 2004, with the help of dedicated and generous supporters, UPN has raised over $300,000 exclusively for prevention programs to supplement the annual funding budget(s) necessary to maintain and operate these organizations, which are vital to the future health, safety, and well-being of our state’s children.  Many child abuse and neglect prevention programs rely entirely on government funding to deal with the myriad of expenses that arise during an abuse and/or neglect case, most of which does not help support the individual child’s needs through this difficult process.  With the help of private funding sources such as UPN, programs are able to provide children with necessities essential to their emotional, physical and educational recovery allowing them to achieve their full potential.

Additionally, many programs’ funding is earmarked to provide support and assistance once abuse or neglect has already occurred.  To create systemic and sustainable change, heightened awareness to identify and deter potential cases is necessary.  UPN advocates for and supports increased funding to help provide parents, guardians, families, public officials, and communities with the education and resources necessary to prevent abuse and/or neglect before such instances occur.

All proceeds are donated to prevention programs to aid in the fight to create change and reduce the instances of child abuse and neglect in our state.
